Louis has been a practicing lawyer in Halifax since he became a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 2007. He graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 2006. Louis has also obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from Dalhousie University.
Louis has been practicing family law since 2010. His preferred practice areas include divorce and matrimonial property matters, separation agreements, custody and access, child and spousal support, and child protection proceedings. Louis also represents clients to address wills and estates matters, including the related tax law issues.
Louis appears regularly in the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia (Family Division), and has developed positive working relationships with Court staff and opposing counsel, to the benefit of his clients. Louis is an active participant in ongoing professional development opportunities, and also volunteers by conducting legal information and summary advice sessions with the Legal Information Society of Nova Society, ISANS (Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia), and other community organizations.
